I have a client with a turnover of £1.5m and growing based in Central London who is looking for an accountant in a practice who can add value to the business by producing actionable financial intelligence not just management accounts spread sheets with no interpretation. The client needs to understand the financial dynamics better with a view to optimising resources, maximising margin from products and services and increasing profits. There is a clear written brief so unlike most potential clients we know what we want. We just need to find a commercially aware accountant probably supported by a proactive exec, in a practice who can oversee an in house bookkeeper, ensure the monthly management accounts are produced promptly and accurately, can present the results clearly and can enter into a robust dialogue with the directors on the key financial metrics and demonstrate how we can perform better. Commercial mind-set is as important as technical ability.
