ADVERTISING

Surely the 'Opportunities' Section should be renamed as 'Free Advertising'.
This is nonsense, please AWeb either ban advertising or have a separate section for this!

Feedback
Thank you for your comment and apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Please can you advise which posts in particular you are referring to?
We have recently posted some new guidance for those posting in the opportunities section to help combat this, but we also rely on members to help us stay vigilant against those flouting these conditions.
Many thanks and kind regards,

Advertising
The opportunities section has been of use for small firms to advertise their skills and buy & sell fees for a long while with no complaint. I do not really see any reason to change it as it does no harm & provides many small firms with a little free space to sell their products or services.
What do others think?
Guidance
Thanks for your comment. It's fine for people to post if they're looking to buy or sell fees. I think the point is that firms are not supposed to use it to advertise their services. Basically, opportunities is meant to be an 'accountant-to-accountant' place, not an 'accountant-to-market' place.
If anyone's in any doubt about what they can and can't post, please refer to our guidance page or contact our community manager, Becky Midgley.
Original post
I made the original post and my gripe is basically, if I want to look e.g. if there are any fees for sale in my area or someone looking to share resources etc. I have to wade through 'auditors available', 'tax advice available' etc.
I think there wouldn't be any harm to have these on the forum but separate from real 'opportunities'.

Hi Gina,
I agree with the OP's last email. Is this something AWeb can consider doing? (ie have a separate section for fees and another where accountants/tax advisers/bookkeepers etc can advertise their services which are often sought after by other members). Could you perhaps put the topic up for discussion & if it's not something AWeb users feel is helpful, then ban advertising?
