The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters recently launched a next-generation intelligent tax system, under its Digita brand. The software will revolutionise the collection of data for UK accountants. It is considered to be the most significant productivity innovation in personal tax compliance since Digita pioneered on-screen tax forms over a decade ago.

The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters recently integrated its Digita FileCabinet, with the Digita Professional Suite, bringing the concept of effective paperless office to reality. FileCabinet is already the market leading document management solution in the US in use with 8,800 practices and is already creating a buzz here.

Digita continues to lead the accountancy software market by announcing that its practice workflow and service solutions have been certified by Microsoft for use with the Windows® 7 Operating System.

Digita is the first accountancy software developer to gain Microsoft Certified status for every new version of Windows.

Statistics released by HMRC reveal the extent of disruption caused during the first month of operating its new platform for internet filing of Corporation Tax returns.

Accountants using HMRC’s system, which went live on November 23 2009, were only able to file 88% of returns successfully, and those using third party software didn’t fare much better with only 89% success.

The outstanding exception was Digita Corporation Tax which, according to published HMRC figures, achieved a success rate of 99.54%, over 10% better than the average across all other products.

Competitor rejections twice that of Digita

Internet filing statistics provided by HMRC indicate that the online filing success rate of tax & accounting software suppliers Digita has outperformed the average of all other third parties.

The cumulative statistics to 30 September 2009 show that Digita filed over 119,000 returns with a 98.32% success rate, a better record than the average success rate of other third party software by 1.56%.
