ICPA serves up great member benefits

2 October 2009 - ICPA member accountants across the UK can expect some exciting deliveries over the next few weeks.

They’ll be among the first in the country to receive the 2009/10 versions of the three main Tottel tax annuals – Income Tax, Corporation Tax and VAT- which will arrive hot off the press by courier as soon as they are released at the end of this month.

In a separate move, more than 600 ICPA member practises will soon receive a new PR toolkit, aimed at giving them all they need to general valuable publicity in their local media.

ICPA chairman Tony Margaritelli said: “The Tottel guides are always a big hit because they are a great resource to have to hand. Members constantly tell us how useful the manuals are and how delighted they are to get them for free. These three guides retail at £114, so are a great perk of membership.”

The ICPA – which provides practical support for general practise accountants – has recently taken on leading London PR consultancy Siren to highlight its membership benefits and increase its share of voice in the industry.

As part of the deal all ICPA members will receive a PR toolkit which gives them advice on how to best raise awareness of their businesses locally. It includes tips on dealing with news organisations and a selection of specimen press releases which can be adapted for their individual needs.

Margaritelli added: “Our members are very often small businesses themselves, so they can really benefit from some simple PR advice. The toolkit will help them build links with their local papers and radio stations, shout about the services they offer, and highlight the invaluable part they play in their communities.”

ICPA membership offers a raft of benefits to general practise accountant. These include professional indemnity insurance with £300,000 cover, specialist telephone help lines, client fee protection, access to leading accountancy software at significantly reduced prices, free support and advice on issues affecting an accountancy business and regular training.

In addition, the ICPA is a sponsor of the AccountingWeb Software Satisfaction Awards, which takes place on October 8 2009.
