IRIS OpenBooks Helps Accountants to Support their Customers with Electronic VAT-Filing Functionality
Datchet, U.K. – September 2, 2010 – IRIS Accountancy Practice Solutions (APS) has today announced electronic VAT-filing functionality in IRIS OpenBooks, its online bookkeeping service for accountancy practices and their small business clients.
From 1 April 2010, all existing businesses with turnover exceeding £100,000 have been required to file and pay their VAT returns electronically. IRIS OpenBooks, powered by FreeAgent, now allows accountants to offer their customers one-click VAT filing, saving significant time and further automating all their customer’s returns. The added functionality is entirely integrated to the IRIS Practice Suite and enables accountants to further enhance their service offering to small businesses.
IRIS OpenBooks is a true SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) based application with both the platform and customer data hosted securely online. It incorporates a UK-specific, tax-aware accounting engine, which automates many bookkeeping tasks and accelerates the compliance process.
IRIS APS offers IRIS OpenBooks exclusively to UK accountancy firms, enabling them to provide an online bookkeeping service to small business clients. It is extremely easy to use and ensures that small businesses can provide high-quality bookkeeping data to their accountant. Accountants and their clients can now collaborate in real-time giving the accountant opportunities to add value by offering business advice at the point of need.
IRIS OpenBooks is fully integrated with the IRIS Practice Suite, and also works with IRIS products sold under the PTP and Drummohr brands. To find out more about IRIS OpenBooks and its electronic VAT-filing functionality, please see: http://www.iris.co.uk/irisopenbooks
