Keytime Time & Attendance Extended To New £5million Laundry Service Site
Specialist laundry company Afonwen has extended its use of Keytime Time & Attendance to include a new site in Cardiff, which is part of a £5million investment to create the largest commercial laundry in South Wales.
Afonwen Laundry is one of the largest, independently-owned laundries in the UK and has the capacity to handle over 1.2 million items of linen a week. These items can be distributed by a fleet of over 20 HGV vehicles and three company vans as part of the delivery and collection service to customers throughout Wales, the North West, Yorkshire, West Midlands, and the South West of England.
Over 400 hotels utilise Afonwen’s services, including laundry and linen hire as well as chef’s wear and workwear, and a Premier range of the finest Italian-woven 200 thread count Egyptian Cotton sheets and quality linen is frequently mentioned in the Good Hotel Guide and other leading hotel reviews.
Since 1999 over £6million has been invested in the company’s main production facility in Pwllheli and a new site in Cardiff has recently been opened as part of an additional multi-million-pound investment programme.
Keytime Time & Attendance has been used for a number of years at Afonwen’s Pwllheli site to help electronically data capture the comings and goings of around 100 to 130 staff, which often includes temporary personnel provided by recruitment agencies.
The system has now been extended to the Cardiff site at Spring Meadow Business Park where between 50 and 60 staff can now digitally clock in and out and radically reduce manual procedures as well as eliminate human errors. The individual data, which is captured on the tamper-proof electronic keypads, can be immediately accessed online by the administration and payroll staff at Pwllheli.
“Thanks to Keytime, we now have modern online access to the additional Keytime Time & Attendance system that has been installed at our new Cardiff site,” revealed Pwllheli-based Afonwen Personnel Manager Lucy Dangerfield.
“It will ensure that our administration and payroll processing will run much more smoothly with data being transmitted electronically, rather than having to manually organise and send timesheets to our Pwllheli offices.”
The Keytime staff and the Time & Attendance technical and implementation team have also been praised for their efforts during the installation process.
“Keytime are a great bunch and they have been very helpful with the implementation at our Cardiff site,” says Lucy.
