Blackberries spoil Christmas for finance professionals

According a joint survey by finance recruiter FSS and office recruiter Crone Corkill, over 40% of staff had their Christmas holiday interrupted by work.

The increasing popularity of the Blackberry was a significant factor in the fractured nature of 2007s festive period. Over a fifth of finance professionals, together with 15% of PAs, said their shiny new Blackberries were on at all times.

Contrary to the popular conception that the finance sector works longer hours, 28% of Crone Corkills office support staff said they would be doing at least a few days work over the holiday period, compared to only 22% of FSS financial candidates.
