During the past two weeks 10 judging panels have assessed and compared a total of 200 entries to the 2016 Practice Excellence Awards. This article reveals the shortlists they decided.
Because of the variety and ingenuity displayed by firms in previous years, the Practice Excellence Awards have been expanded to reflect particular aspects exhibited by leading-edge firms. Practices around the country responded to this expanded menu of categories by submitting 30% more entries than last year.
Contenders for new firm, business advisory and client service awards were considered as well as the traditional Practice Excellence categories covering small, medium and large firms, innovation and growth. Individual prizes are also up for grabs for technology champion and unqualified/trainee.
Before moving on to the entrants who made it through the first cut to reach the shortlists for these categories, AccountingWEB would like to thank all the firms and judges who make this scheme possible. The quality of entries on show across the board confirm that there is no single path to Practice Excellence. Because of the intensity of the competition some great entrants did not make it through to the shortlists below.
We can still learn new things from all the ideas put forward. As we head towards the awards announcement on 20 October, AccountingWEB will feature some of the unsung heroes among the 2016 entrants.
