Advanced Learning to highlight benefits of cloud-based Progresso at BETT2014

System helps schools comply with OFSTED requirements

20 January 2014 – Advanced Learning (Advanced) is demonstrating Progresso MIS, the most innovative school information system on the market, on stand C493 at BETT2014 (22 January – 25 January 2014 at Excel London). Advanced will demonstrate how Progresso can facilitate compliance with OFSTED inspection requirements by providing rapid access to learner information. Consultants will also be explaining how schools can utilise Consultants will also be explaining how schools can utilize Progresso to drive efficiencies on becoming an academy.

Progresso enables head teachers, teachers, parents and support staff, to securely access student information including assessment and progression data and behavior reports via an easy to use web-based interface. Progresso allows users to spend less time identifying issues and addressing them, ensuring that intervention is faster than ever before.

The cloud-based solution, which has gone through significant investment since being acquired by Advanced, was developed from the ground up in collaboration with over 2,000 schools. It is based on three core principles which schools highlighted as key priorities; ease of use, intelligence and efficiency.

Steve Dashwood, Managing Director, Advanced Learning says: “Schools and academies are under constant pressure to demonstrate that they are continuously achieving learner progress.  Progresso enables users to do this quickly and easily, supporting their accountability.  The system provides access to intelligence instantly, by offering a highly visual picture of what is happening across the whole school, as well as across the entire cluster, group, or federation.

“We are seeing an increasing numbers of schools are migrating to cloud-based Software as a Service model as they become aware of the potential operational and cost benefits. By appointing specialists like Advanced to host and manage their software, schools can reduce the time and expense involved in maintaining physical IT infrastructure. It also means schools can move from a capital expenditure model to one based on operational expenditure, helping to make limited budgets go a lot further.”

Visitors to stand C493 can expect to see the variety of ways in which Advanced Learning’s innovative solutions can help schools and academies with key challenges. The Advanced Learning team has some of the best educational ICT minds in the country who will be on stand to discuss schools requirements and how Advanced can assist.

In addition to showcasing Progresso, Advanced Learning staff will also be demonstrating other product including CMIS and CMIS GO. CMIS is a timetabling and resource management solution and is widely used by universities across the globe. CMISGo is a recent innovation which enables staff and students to publish timetable information and updates via mobile devices using web and SMS technology. Advanced recently won a five year contract to provide both solutions to the University of Westminster.
