AIA FOUNDERS' LECTURE & AWARDS 2013
The 2013 Founders' Lecture and Awards took place on Thursday 3 October 2013 at Kings Place, London.
The Founders' Lecture is a long-standing tradition, which strives to build on the successes of previous years, and offer members and guests a topical, challenging and above all, highly enjoyable event. This year the event looked at 'The Ethics of Global Tax Planning.'
This thought provoking and topical area was covered to great effect by the keynote speakers, George Bull, Senior Tax Partner, Baker Tilly and Toby Quantrill, ActionAid's Policy Advisor on Tax Justice.
There was also a panel discussion with participation from Dr Robert Barrington, Executive Director of Transparency International UK and Kevin Reed, Editor of Accountancy Age and Financial Director who highlighted the complexity of the issue and that we are a long way from solving it.
The AIA Awards concluded the evening and the winners are as follows:
