UK cloud accounting pioneer FreeAgent has cemented its credentials in the accounting and bookkeeping profession by partnering with the Association of International Accountants (AIA) to help support and educate it’s members on using technology to support their small business clients.

Under the agreement FreeAgent, who provide award-winning cloud accounting software for accountants working with freelancers, contractors and small business clients, will additionally provide AIA members with three months free for the first three clients they add to their FreeAgent dashboard - saving them over £150.

Founded in 1928, AIA has promoted the concept of ‘international accounting’ to build a global network of accountants in 105 countries worldwide. It aims to create world class accountants; through offering high-standard, relevant and innovative qualifications, and providing first-class, tailored and pertinent services for its members worldwide.

The agreement is the latest boost to FreeAgent’s ongoing work with UK accountancy practices, which already includes partnerships with a number of other professional bodies and industry organisations. It also follows a number of major deals with UK accountancy practices including JSA and Umbrella.co.uk.

Ed Molyneux, CEO and co-founder of FreeAgent, said: “The AIA is a very highly respected professional body who work with accountants all across the world, so partnering with them to offer FreeAgent to their members is a great acknowledgement of our expertise and credentials in the accountancy profession.

“FreeAgent is the most popular online accounting system among UK small businesses and freelancers, and we’re also a respected and highly-rated solution for accountants who work with these types of businesses. We look forward to working with more AIA members in the coming years to show them how FreeAgent can help them work more effectively with small business clients.”

Philip Turnbull, AIA Chief Executive, said: “FreeAgent provides an innovative accounting

solution that is becoming increasingly popular among accountancy practices across the UK. AIA members provide valuable accountancy services and support to small and micro businesses, and we’re very happy to be working with FreeAgent to provide our members with access to this unique offer. Using FreeAgent within their practices could enhance the services our members offer their clients.”

FreeAgent offers accountants simple pay-as-you go monthly billing, including free automated Bank Feeds and fully integrated RTI-compliant Payroll. Additionally the FreeAgent Practice Dashboard gives practices an immediate overview of their clients, allows them to manage user-level access permissions and enables a proactive approach through exception-based Alerts custom defined at an Account Manager level.

FreeAgent also offers full product training and support and a free accreditation programme, an additional mark of credibility and expertise they can promote to their customers. On meeting the necessary criteria, accredited practices will also be added to the FreeAgent directory - putting them in front of over 40,000 freelancers, and micro businesses, many of whom are actively looking for an accountant - and will receive exclusive content to help them grow their practices.
