Rebecca Cave gives a brief summary of the changes to the tax and employment rules which are on the horizon for micro companies. These are companies controlled by their owner/directors with fewer than ten employees.

Most of the changes will take effect from either 1 or 6 April 2016 but the new AIA cap comes into effect on 1 January 2016, so planning is essential. We have included references or links to the draft law or relevant HMRC guidance, however be aware that HMRC guidance may be altered with little warning and the law may be changed before it comes into effect.
