Valuation can be complex. Lack of understanding, for example, of the crucial valuation difference between market and fair value, or the correct meaning of the Articles and Shareholders Agreement provisions, may bring irreversible damage to a valuer's reputation.
Similarly, whilst expert witnesses valuation work is demanding but also professionally rewarding, a failure to understand the Court's requirements regarding expert independence and procedures in relation to reports and oral evidence is not uncommon.
