Survey suggests having an accountant helps survival

FD Kensington, one of the country's leading accountancy practice brokers recently surveyed around 5,000 firms.

According to Isaac Ginsbury, operations manager at Kensington, the results showed that on the whole accountants are happy with their lot.

  • 88 per cent of accountants have not considered leaving practice
  • 84 per cent would recommend accountancy as a career to a young person
  • 79 per cent can be contacted out of hours
  • 89 per cent dispense business advice
  • 83 per cent have lost less than 3 per cent of clients during the recession

Clearly a happy bunch who are switched on to business and appreciate the importance of being easily contactable by clients, notes Isaac when pressed on what it all means

Norman Younger, founder and director of FD Kensington, part of www.formationsdirect.com, himself an FCCA bullishly notes that the last result suggests that having an accountant may increase the chance of a business surviving tough times.
