TaxCalc are delighted to announce a major update to its Accounts Production software.

Originally released in the Autumn of 2011, TaxCalc Accounts Production was designed with superior ease of use and the accountant’s workflow in mind. This latest release introduces support for new accounting formats and powerful new features that practitioners will really enjoy.

TaxCalc is a company that actively listens to customer feedback and  implements improvements and suggestions accordingly.  Please find below  a quick rundown of the major improvements in the latest release:

New reporting standards
There have been many recent changes to UK GAAP. TaxCalc Accounts Production can now prepare financial statements according to FRS 102 for small limited companies, micro-entities and FRSSE 2015.

Interactive editing of financial statements
The report engine has been rewritten to enable the interactive editing of note content once the financial statements have been created. When the user switches to edit mode, they can click on any text with a dotted border to edit it in situ.

Rich note content
We’ve introduced the ability to format notes and disclosures with rich text elements, meaning that the accounts can now embolden, italicise, underline and align content and also incorporate bulleted and numbered lists.

System level customisation of Charts of Accounts, Terms and Notes
For firms that wish to customise the way accounts, terms and notes are described in the software, this can now be done on a system level.

Improved posting experience
We’ve listened intently to feedback received from customers and have spent time improving the posting window. It’s now even easier to use and with its new in-cell validation, spotting posting errors will be easier than ever.

New accountants’ reports
We’ve introduced a number of template accountants’ reports for the main professional bodies such as the ICAEW, ACCA and ICAS. All accountants’ reports benefit from a new token system meaning that, for example, references to the date of the engagement letter will come through automatically from Client Hub.

Create favourite nominal account codes
Firms can now create a subset of the main chart of accounts, to speed up the finding of an account during posting.

Steve Checkley, Commercial Director, had this to say: “We’re very proud of the various teams that have put many months of hard work into this exciting new release of the software. We are confident that both our current and future customers will find the update  further enhances the product features and benefits.”
