HMRC today opened a new dedicated helpline for tax advisers wanting to deal with enforcement/compliance, debt management and banking issues.
The “DMB” contact number is 0300 200 3887 and is an offshoot of similar dedicated lines that were installed for PAYE, self assessment, tax credits and other issues during the past few years.
All of the lines are intended solely for professional advisers to get a priority response from the tax department. They are open 8am-8pm on weekday (with additional hours at the weekend for self assessment and tax credit agent lines).
The dedicated agent lines have proved to be popular with accountants and tax advisers. The additional line for compliance, banking and debt issues emerged as a welcome surprise this morning and continues the department’s migration to lower cost 0300 contact lines.
