HMRC publish Freedom of Information (FOI) guidance

HMRC has updated its FOI guidance to make it easier to look for information that HMRC already publishes and submit a request to us for information. It also contains a log of all the FOI requests we have received.

The log of past requests under the FOI has not yet been populated with any data. It is sure to be interesting reading in the future for the bloggers, at least.

Despite the updates, finding existing published information remains something of a challenge, HMRC is not keen to give anything away so it does not provide any new details of how one might find items on its website, other than by normal search and navigation that is.

Yes there are more important things but ...
"HMRC is not keen to give anything away so it does not provide any new details of how one might find items on its website"

... surely a candidate for improvement in the "Charter" ... unless HMRC is now populated with devotees of cat-and-mouse games or John le Carre ?
