London council starts universal credit trial

The government's delayed welfare reform, Universal Credit, was implemented in West London this week. 

The BBC reported that Hammersmith and Fulham is the latest council to start trials of the new credit, which will replace means-tested benefits including income support and housing benefit with a single payment, by 2017.
