In a bid to popularise the latest version of Excel, Microsoft’s TechNet facility for IT professionals has opened an Excel 2010 resource page.

There is a more user-friendly Excel tutorial page for non-nerds, but the TechNet page includes links to helpful blogs and tutorials as well as information on technical requirements, migration issues and performance optimisation.

Probably of most interest to the financial community are sections covering Excel Services and the Excel Web App. Because Excel is so commonly used for management reporting, these online facilities make it feasible to create report packs or data collection forms and circulate them via a single web source rather than emailing around lots of different versions of the same file.

Any time you’re at a loose end and looking for a bit of technology or management reporting-related CPD, the Excel 2010 resource page would be well worth a visit - once you’ve worked your way through ExcelZone’s catalogue of tutorials, of course!
