An accountant's guide to building an IT consultancy

At the ICAEW IT Faculty's March 2003 conference, Keith Malcouronne from Staines-based Bolton Colby Chartered Accountants explained how his firm had developed a technology consulting business that now contributes 1m a year to its fee income.

The IT Faculty event, 'Making Practice Perfect' was designed to encourage practitioners to consider the business opportunities of developing IT services, and Malcouronne's talk offered a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

Introducing the speakers, IT Faculty chairman Simon Hurst commented, "I'm always amazed at the willingness of chartered accountants to give up their innermost secrets to their competitors."
