As a young boy I used to have a book about the V8 engine. I remember it because it had a set of cellophane pages that gradually built up a picture of the engine from the internal components to the finished thing. I used to like pop-up books as well. It's probably little surprise that I opted for a career in accountancy.

My interest in different ways of presenting information in printed form resurfaced when I started to get involved in producing computer software manuals and training information.
