A newly commissioned ticketing system failed to perform for the organisers of the Edinburgh Fringe festival this month, resulting in delays, disruption and financial difficulties for venues. John Stokdyk reports
If you have spent some time at the Edinburgh Fringe this month and found it hard to get hold of tickets, blame the computer.
According to a Scotland on Sunday report, the shortcomings of the Fringe's new Liquid Box Office system from Pivotal Integration meant that telephone and counter sales were suspended on several occasions and printing problems meant that more than 150,000 tickets were only sent out at the last minute. (NB: the system has nothing to do with either the Pivotal CRM solution or the Liquid Accounts online system - Ed)
