Internet Monitor: UK sites shine at Webbys

The great and good in the world of website design gathered at New York City's Gotham Hall earlier this month to celebrate the 9th Annual Webby Awards.

Never heard of them? The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence in Web design, creativity, usability and functionality and are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, whose members include musicians Beck and David Bowie, Internet inventor Vint Cerf, political columnist Arianna Huffington, Real Networks CEO Rob Glaser, "The Simpsons" creator Matt Groening, "Smart Mobs" author Howard Rheingold, Oracle chairman Larry Ellison, and The Body Shop president Anita Roddick. Awards are made by the academy and also by worldwide public voting for the People's Voice Winner in each category.
