After a wait of nearly two years, Sage has established a web-hosted Line 50 accounting service. John Stokdyk reports.
The company has been working long and hard to devise an online formula that will not damage its successful shrink-wrapped software business. The new Sage 50 Accounts Professional Online 2007 service was extensively tested with several accountancy firms and is being rolled out via Sage's Accountants Club, whose members will be invited to sign their clients up.
The company's press release said that research showed more than a third of Sage customers would be interested in having access to Line 50 over the internet, as well as shared access with their accountant. Sage 50 Accounts Professional Online 2007 delivers this capability.
