Treasury victim of new phishing scam

A spoof email has appeared which purports to come from HM Treasury. At first sight it was assumed to be an unusual wheeze to catch out non-domiciled individuals who may get caught under the proposed flat tax charge for residence next year, but then it was realised that the Treasury just doesn't do refunds!

The email goes under the title of:

Apply now to the new Tax Refund Program

"Dear UK resident:

HM Treasury offer a tax refund service for anyone who have worked in the UK and paid taxes. A tax refund is a repayment of a tax that you have overpaid during financial tax year. Everyone who has worked in England for the past 5-6 years can apply for the tax refund. HM Treasury specialize in PAYE tax back and guarantees you fast and efficient service.

The other thing that gives this email away as being false is that it talks about England. No mention of Wales or Scotland or....
