Most days you'll encounter her as a mild-mannered accountant and itinerant tax lecturer.
But at weekends - look out! Rebecca Benneyworth could be on the prowl as a lady of easy virtue, an obsessive stalker, or the unfortunate victim of senseless violence (right).
In spite of the shocking image, Rebecca assures us she's perfectly all right - it's just another of her many roles for Joy Swift's Murder Weekend company.
Rising to a recent Born Dull?! challenge, Rebecca took the concept of extreme makeover to the limit.
Rebecca reports that she has spent many hilarious weekends "as an occasional actor, sometime victim". As well as being murdered herself, she has also played the vicious killer, and a detective inspector of various constabularies.
Anyone who has attended one of Rebecca's tax lectures will immediately recognise the stagecraft and drama she weaves into her performances. So it comes as little surprise to learn that she particularly warms to such character roles as the "tart with a heart" and Geraldine, the fatigue-wearing stalker. Professional decorum prevents us from prying too much into the occasion when she was discovered "in flagrante" with a friend's husband by 80 guests.
Over the past few years, Born Dull?! has discovered that many accountants harbour a secret inner passion. Often the routine workload of tax advice, business planning and financial schmmozing is merely the means to an alternative end. The passion could be opera, potter - or in the case of half the executive team at CODA Software - live soul music.
Previously, Born Dull?! has documented the following cases:
- Radio DJ David Warren
- Cabaret artiste Julie Short
- Googlewhacker Mike Truman
- After dinner conjuror "Magic" Mark Lee
- Iain the biking beancounter
This seems to be a paltry collection of the potential weirdness and novelty that lurks out there in Born Dull?! land. So come on then, we need some extra people here. Let's be having you and hear some stories about your hidden passions and unsung talents.
