- The forthcoming Budget is likely to be a minimalist one
- There isn't enough money to finance any vote winning 'giveaways'
- The emphasis will be firmly on progress made so far in tackling the deficit
Will the government give anything away in the forthcoming Budget? Not likely says John Whiting, tax policy director at the CIOT.
The forthcoming election will put paid to any major major policy changes in this Budget, according to John Whiting.
