Accountants willing to take pay cuts for new jobs

  • 10% of accountants looking for a new job would consider a pay cut
  • The average salary was £50,000 - £75,000
  • Over a quarter said they would accept a reduction of 20% in their salary if conditions were right

Nearly half of all UK accountancy professionals will look for a new role in the coming months – but over a third said they would consider a 10% pay cut for the right job.

A new survey by specialist accountancy recruiter Martin Ward Anderson found that money was no longer the prime motivator in employees’ decision to move jobs.

The majority of those surveyed currently earned £50,000 - £75,000 p.a., but would be willing to settle for £45,000 - £67,000 if the working conditions were right.
