Going Green???

Given that air travel accounts for so much of the CO2 emmissions, is there any way that we can use our professional expertise to institute a green travel management policy.

For instance we could charge cost centres with an internal Carbon Tax that takes into account the environmental impact of travelling? I am not quite sure where we would put the credit entry...

I know some organisations that have banned UK flights and even European flights. First class train travel (complete with lap-top, etc.) being used instead.

Saving on travel costs - more than just travel booking

Keeping travel costs to a minimum requires more than an efficient travel booking process - a good expenses software product will save costs in processing expenses and give complete transparency into who is spending what, where and when.

There are a number of good products out there - UK-based suppliers include WebExpenses (our business) and GlobalExpense, while US-based suppliers included Extensity and Concur.
