Commissioner signals single European corporate tax base

The EU tax commissioner is to push ahead with proposals for a single European corporate tax base despite opposition from five countries, including Britain.

Kaszlo Kovaks says the move will cut red tape and help companies in cross-border trade.

Here we go again! Thou shalt compete on a level playing-field - one designed by the high-tax, anti-globalisation countries of Ye Olde Europee. And if you can't get everyone to agree, just carry on regardless and call it a "pioneer group". Flat taxes? Fat chance! Use the German system and like it or lump it.
