Fullers Brewery taps James Douglas as new FD, as Paul Clarke calls time
FD since July 1991, Paul Clarke will hand over the financial reins of Fuller’s next April to a physicist-turned-financier, after taking it public and overseeing its biggest acquisition.
Paul Clarke is to retire at the end of April 2008 after almost 18 years as Finance Director of London-based brewery group Fullers. His unusually long tenure has seen Fullers move to a full London Stock Exchange listing (in 1996) while retaining extensive family ownership; stage its largest acquisition (of the 111-pub George Gale chain in 2005); and grow its estate to around 360 pubs and 6 hotels.
