Hanging tough: Accountancy sector to bounce back in 2010

  • The average growth rate of the world’s largest accounting networks contracted by about 5–6%
  • Of the worlds' 10 largest accounting networks, just two posted revenue increases
  • The Big Four held firm against increased fee pressure
  • Progress towards IFRS convergence was slowed by the recession

There were changes at the top of the accountancy league table this year but the profession is holding firm against economic pressure and increased fee competition.
