A number of new regulations came into force at the start of the new tax year on 6 April, so below is a reminder of some of the key tax changes and payroll highlights. The Institute of Payroll Professionals’ Diana Bruce offers an update.
Income tax bands
Tax allowances will be frozen for the tax year 2010-11, while the tax-free personal allowance for employees under 65 will stay at £6,475.
