Travelodge surveyed 4000 employees and found that 22% of workers admitted to regularly fiddling their company expense claims, which would mean a staggering 6.3 million Britons are on the take.

recently prepared accounts and tax return for a subcontract plumber. Claims made for "protective clothing" and, upon examination, found to include a receipt for 3 Georgio Armani boxer shorts!!

They lie by omission , blatantly tell lies , only tell half truths , have no work ethic , set no example for the voters to follow and waste the taxpayers money because there is so much to waste. it on Also different standards apply when they are investigated. All to stay in power. Some say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Heads of large corporations are controlled and set higher standards then our politicians.

That may well happen since, clearly, you are obliged under the Money Laundering Regulations to report your suspicions that Lords and MPs are submitting fraudulent expenses claims.

As I recall, evidence is not required, only a suspicion.

In fact, I am now very, very worried.

Now that I, along with all other Accounting Web readers of this article, have been made aware of your suspicions, am I and they not under a similar obligation to report you for not reporting your suspicions, otherwise we'll all end up in clink?
