CCH RELEASES PROSYSTEM TAX COMPLIANCE UPDATES
FOR START OF NEW FINANCIAL YEAR

CCH, a leading provider of information and tools to the accounting profession, is releasing compliance updates for all the tax modules of its integrated practice software ProSystem, ready for the start of the new financial year.

Covering Personal & Partnership Tax, CGT & Dividend Scheduling, Trust Tax and Return Analysis, the modules have all been significantly enhanced as well as featuring all the necessary content updates.

The Personal and Partnership Tax module offers full filing by internet capability and CCH has already received formal HMRC approval on this functionality for 2006 processing. This means practitioners using CCH ProSystem Personal and Partnership Tax are able to commence filing by Internet immediately for the new tax year - an especially important point, given the newly-announced recommendations of the Carter Report around compulsory online filing of returns in 2008.

Designed to reflect the ways an accountancy practice operates, ProSystem is now available as four integrated 'segments' covering Accountancy, Taxation, Consultancy and Practice Management. The breadth of modules now offered by ProSystem as an integrated Tax, Accounting and Practice system is currently unrivalled in the professional software marketplace.

CCH also recently announced a phased programme of technical enhancements to ProSystem which will improve integration and process efficiencies, plus support the evolution of the traditional accountancy practice from traditional compliance work to offer added value services including Strategic Planning and Tax Planning services.

Valerie Murrell, head of CCH Software, says: 'Tax law is evolving more quickly than it ever has before, and the onus falls on accounting professionals to ensure they are completely up-to-date with all changes at the start of the new tax year.

'The development work undertaken on ProSystem means that practitioners and their clients can be certain that they are fulfilling all the latest filing requirements and are also working as efficiently as possible.

'In addition to this, if the recommendations of the Carter Report are implemented as they currently stand, submitting returns online will become compulsory by 2008.

'Having a system which is already approved for this function will give users an important head start in terms of both technology and working practice efficiency.'
