CedarOpenAccounts has strengthened its HR & Payroll Software team by appointing Jan Paxton, Product Manager, Human Capital Management (HCM). The company has also seen record sales of its HR & Payroll software, clocking up 20 new deals in the last six months. CedarOpenAccounts will be showcasing its OpenPeople HR & Payroll products at Softworld on 21-22 February.

Jan Paxton joins CedarOpenAccounts from Northgate with 17 years experience in the HR & Payroll software market, having held a number of senior product management roles. Prior to her software career Jan worked in HR for Thomas Cook giving her first hand experience of all HR issues affecting service organisations. She is also a Fellow of the CIPD.

Jan commented, 'I was attracted to CedarOpenAccounts because of the company's forward thinking plans to build integrated finance, HR & Payroll solutions. There are so many areas in an organisation where HR and finance work together, in particular the requirement for Human Capital Management statistics. This was a chance to make a difference to the many organisations seeking a single solution.'

Since acquiring the OpenPeople product from Grampian Software in May 2005, CedarOpenAccounts has secured new contracts for the software with companies including BA Regional Cargo, Barker & Stonehouse, Crittal Windows, DFS and Healthstore.

Richard Fisher, General Manager, Open People, comments: 'Companies realise CedarOpenAccounts is an extremely strong and reputable software provider, and they are confident with our strategy to provide service sector organisations with software products that tighten the links between HR & Payroll and financial accounts. The OpenPeople product is central to our plans to become the leading player in mid-market Human Capital Management and we are confident we will achieve that in 2006.'

At Softworld CedarOpenAccounts will be focusing on:

  • HR Analyser - a product which enables public sector HR to monitor Best Value Performance Indicators
  • eBIS ' its software tool for self-service and workflow, which offers an opportunity to support not only HR and Financial processes in the organisation, but has the flexibility and ability to support the business as a whole
  • Internet recruitment and its continued growth within organisations
