IRIS Software has named Peter McNaney as its Chief Information Officer.

Reporting to Martin Leuw, IRIS Group Chief Executive, McNaney will be responsible for a range of activities across the business, including information systems , business planning and acquisition support.

Prior to joining IRIS, Peter was the project director responsible for the Professional Services arm of Pivotal in the UK, a CDC software company and leading CRM solution provider for mid sized enterprises.

Martin Leuw says: The creation of this new role will boost the Group's senior management capacity further, to support our rapid growth and our ambition to be the first choice of business software for UK accountancy practices and SMEs'.

The appointment comes directly after IRIS announced its acquisition of Exchequer Software, an award winning independent software house specialising in mid-range accounting software.
