Microsoft's development team is talking up Excel's new "Gemini" business intelligence add-in. John Stokdyk reports.
More information continues to emerge from Microsoft about the Gemini business intelligence Add-in that will be released alongside the next Excel release, the latest being an overview published on the Microsoft Excel 2010 team blog.

The tool is a straightforward add-in that greatly expands Excel’s data capacity and provides a simple interface for applying analytic and visualisation tools such as PivotTables, PivotCharts and Slicers to information imported from Microsoft SQL Server and other data sources.
As with imports carried out with the MS Query tool, any data brought in via Gemini becomes a table within the destination worksheet - where previous relationships existed between imported tables, Gemini would pick them up automatically.
