Government bill to narrow gender pay gap

Employers with more than 250 staff will be required to report on their gender pay gap from 2013 under the new Equality Bill launched today.

The Bill will come into force from autumn 2010 and will replace nine major pieces of legislation and around 100 other measures currently in place to form a single Act which makes it easier for employers and individuals to understand their legal rights and obligations.
