Free CIMA webcast
CIMA has organised a Visiting Professor Lecture programme since 1999, inviting renowned professors from top universities round the world to speak on topics relevant to Management Accountancy. Last year Professor Michael Shields delivered a lecture about management accounting change, particularly organisational causes and individual effects. This year, Professor Wai Fong Chua, Senior Associate Dean at the Australian School of Business, will be delivering a lecture on strategising and accounting.
Professor Chua's research primarily focuses on the increasing role of accounting in strategy formation with real world examples to illustrate this shift in the status of accounting. The research highlights the movement of accounting from back room bean-counting to becoming an integral part of the strategic process. Professor Chua will be presenting her lecture at MARG (Management Accounting Research Group) Conference, which takes place at the London School of Economics.
In addition to this lecture CIMA will be broadcasting a live webcast of Professor Chua speaking about her research. The free webcast will be broadcast on the 18 April 2008 at 08.30 BST. Please click here to register http://www.cimaglobal.com/cps/rde/xchg/live/root.xsl/27906.htm
