The IRIS Exchequer financial management system is to be deployed by Alex Reid, the UK’s leading sales and distribution business to the clothes care sector and part of the Johnsons Service Group. The 40 user financial and commercials system with stock forecasting capability is to be installed following a failed implementation of SAP R3 and will provide the £18m sales and distribution business with the highest levels of reporting and greater control of its finances.

IRIS Exchequer was chosen over other competitive products for its strength in the distribution sector, its approach and its proven track record for successful implementations. With more than 15,000 companies using the mid-range accounting system worldwide, IRIS has developed a solution that is tailored to the needs of the wholesale, sales and distribution sector, automating processes, reducing costs and eliminating inefficiency.

Managing Director, Matt Watts, was heavily involved in the selection process and cites the calibre of the IRIS Exchequer team as influential in the decision. He said: “As soon as we met the team we were impressed. We explained how the implementation of SAP had got out of hand in terms of both the costs and the time wasted and they told us that they would go away, work out a specification for the business and come back to us in 10 days time. They came back armed with a well thought out plan from inception to delivery. From day one, we felt we could trust them and feel confident working with them.”

The implementation is underway and involves integrating IRIS Exchequer and the Tesseract Field Service Management software currently used for remote engineer access, call handling and service control. The system is expected to go live on the 1st August.

Fast access to accurate information is essential to the long term success of any business and Matt is confident that the IRIS Exchequer system does ‘exactly what it says on the can.’

He concluded: “We had to feel trust in the supplier and we do with IRIS. Business is all about building successful relationships and we look forward to a long and beneficial partnership with the team.”
