The new ISA regulations and a strong move towards the paperless office are being credited for a surge in sales of CCH's PROaudit.

The automated audit system has been selected as the product of choice by over 50 accountancy practices across the UK in just the last 4 months, as firms seek to distinguish themselves through a new generation software that instigates a seamless transfer of information following implementation.

For precisely those reasons, top accountancy practices Hicks Randles and Casson Beckman are installing PROaudit in their offices UK-wide and believe the investment will pay dividends over the months to come.

Graham Francis, partner at Casson Beckman and chairman of the practice's audit committee, said: 'Like everyone in the accounting trade we are highly aware of ISA regulations and the difference these make to our day to day practices. This combined with our commitment to enhancing customer service and moving towards a paperless office led to our decision to source new automated software in the form of PROaudit from CCH.

'PROaudit is a practical product and one which complements existing IT systems, which was a real selling point for us. It is helping us improve our service by simplifying storage and improving access to files, while tracking client histories is much less of a chore. A systemised approach such as PROaudit means our staff can work from home and on laptops yet still access the information they need, making us much more client focused.

'The move has been a big investment in terms of time, cost and training but we believe it is one that will pay dividends in the medium to long term.'

Lindsay Hicks, director at Hicks Randles, commented: 'As a practice we try to stay at the forefront of the industry and with current pressures and the ISA standards it is clear that the latest software is required if you want to remain a leader. CCH demonstrates a good understanding of where the industry is heading so it made sense to choose their PROaudit product, which caters to our needs but also has features that can keep us ahead of the game.

'Our move towards achieving a paperless office was a strong factor in us choosing this product, as well as the fact it could be tailored to our needs. Particular elements also held great appeal, such as the figure of materiality which appears on all pages. It may only seem to be a small thing but it is the added value features such as these which set PROaudit apart from other products, as far as we are concerned.

'It has also been reassuring to have a sales team that is very responsive where queries crop up ' certainly from the outset, CCH focused on our needs and what benefits we could derive from PROaudit. They remain on hand to ensure we derive them.'

Paul Brace, CCH's Director of Practice Software, said: 'Accounting practices have lots of challenges to deal with, such as how to be more client responsive and efficient yet drive down costs. This is at a time when more than ever they are tasked with recording client systems ' making manual systems a real headache.

'PROaudit takes all this away by creating a paperless environment that stores all the information required and provides helpful prompts so nothing can be missed. With this software, there is no need for the audit process to be stressful as it carries out all the hard work for you.'
