An unprecedented number of delegates - over 1,300 - were attracted to the recent nationwide 'Business at Risk' seminars organised by leading document management and imaging company, Version One. These conferences were a focus for senior Accounting and IT personnel from a huge cross-section of organisations, and addressed a number of topical business issues.

With delegate numbers up 50% on the last round of seminars, these case-study-led events looked at current business issues and the solutions to them, which included business continuity, corporate governance and compliance, and the rapidly rising costs of document storage.

A newly commissioned white paper, entitled 'Corporate Governance: The Role of Document Management and Imaging Systems' has attracted international interest and addresses many of these key business issues. The white paper is available in the UK from Version One at [email protected].

BACSTEL-IP is also an issue at the forefront of most Financial Directors' minds. Together with representatives from BACS, Version One's seminars also highlighted the fact that all organisations using BACS must migrate to BACSTEL-IP before the end of 2005. The seminars also highlighted the industry concern that inevitably there will not be enough resource to meet migration demand if organisations do not plan to complete their migration well before the deadline of December 2005. Businesses who don't already have a clear plan to migrate businesses will run the risk of being unable to pay staff and suppliers, thus potentially putting their businesses at risk!
For companies who were unable to attend Version One's events during 2004, a new series of conferences is scheduled for the New Year, as follows:-

Wednesday 9th February 2005 Red Cow Moran, Dublin
Thursday 10th February 2005 Holiday Inn, Belfast
Tuesday 15th February 2005 Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh
Wednesday 16th February 2005 National Railway Museum, York
Thursday 17th February 2005 Manchester United Football Club, Manchester
Tuesday 22nd February 2005 Newbury Racecourse, Newbury
Wednesday 23rd February 2005 British Library, London
Thursday 24th February 2005 National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham
