Haskins Garden Centres has awarded OpenAccounts an order valued in excess of £100,000 to deliver its new accounting and finance solution. The decision was made to implement OpenAccounts to assist improvement to their accounting processes including integration with their new EPoS and Merchandising shop floor systems.

OpenAccounts will implement core finance ledgers, financial and management reporting, purchase ordering, and eBIS workflow known to OpenAccounts as the extended finance concept. The OpenAccounts suite will support accounting activities for the high volume of customer transactions that are traded in its restaurants across its four UK locations.

After considering a number of potential vendors Haskins short-listed OpenAccounts and Microsoft Navision. Following an extensive product evaluation they chose OpenAccounts on the strength of its strong management reporting, integration capabilities and experience in the retail sector.

OpenAccounts will integrate its financial software with Haskins' electronic point of sale (EPoS) and merchandising systems from Corby & Fellas, using OpenAccounts' OpenLink module to provide the integration. The DataMap module will allow Haskins to report detailed sales analysis from both the OpenAccounts and Corby & Fellas databases, a unique feature offered by the OpenAccounts solution. This will provide Haskins with better visibility, improved management reporting and greater control over its financial, auditing and sales analysis process.

Jonathan Workman, Financial Director at Haskins, explains: 'Following detailed evaluations of the OpenAccounts solution, and having seen several systems in live operation, the quality of work and benefits delivered by OpenAccounts' to other retail customers, such as Harvey Nichols gave us great confidence to move forward. From the outset we were in no doubt of OpenAccounts' ability to deliver the solution that we needed. We were really impressed with the reporting and sound accounting capabilities and knew the fit was right.'
