CedarOpenAccounts has won a contract for £140,000 with South Kesteven District Council to provide a new financial management and e-procurement system that will modernise financial operations and aid compliance with the current e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-Gif).

The Council has been focused on major improvements to its operations and part of its 'plans for excellence' involved the overhaul of an outdated financial reporting system. By choosing CedarOpenAccount's eFinancials and e-procurement solutions, the Council's systems will be upgraded to a more efficient financial management platform with improved general ledger, budgeting and reporting and procurement processes.

The e-Gif initiative was a major driver behind the Council's improvement plans and selection of an integrated procurement system that would increase efficiencies and reduce the chain of purchasing.

John Blair, South Kesteven District Council's Director of Finance and Strategic Resources comments, 'Integrating a new finance system is part of the Council's strategic approach to empowering our service managers to manage their own budgets and ultimately achieving a paperless office through e-procurement. CedarOpenAccount's cost effective solution gives the finance department a flexible user-friendly platform that will enable us to easily monitor our accounts, improve reporting and ensure efficiency savings to the back office.'

CedarOpenAccounts was selected in a competitive tender against Civica and Agresso.
