The latest research to be conducted amongst Finance Directors reveals that the Exchequer accounting and business product is way in front of its competitors. It topped all the categories in the survey amongst Finance Directors with the highest user recommendation levels and the highest ratings in the product, support and reseller categories.

As a result, Exchequer, now IRIS Enterprise Software, has been awarded the prestigious title 'Financial Software Provider of the Year (Smaller Implementations)' in the inaugural Real Finance /CBI FDs' Excellence Awards, 2005.

More than 350 Finance Directors took part in the survey answering questions in great detail about how happy they are with the companies supporting them. The survey was conducted between November 2004 and April 2005.

Although only entered in the smaller implementations category, the Exchequer system received the highest overall score of all software surveyed in both the smaller and larger implementations categories. Finance Directors awarded Exchequer an overall score of 7.57, with its nearest competitor trailing at 6.64.

100% of Exchequer users who answered the question on whether they would recommend their current software said they would recommend Exchequer to other Finance Directors. The company also recorded the highest levels of FD satisfaction in the support category at 7.2, a full 1.11 marks ahead of its nearest competitor. In the product category, Exchequer recorded a score of 7.8, with competitors' scores ranging between 7.55 and 6.23.

Exchequer resellers were the most highly thought of amongst the customers who took part in the survey, achieving the highest ratings of 7.70 marks. Competitors' scores ranged between 6.38 as the highest and 5.60 as the lowest for comparison purposes.

'A strong short list and a large field of contenders but Exchequer was well clear', Editor and Publishing Director of Real Finance magazine, Richard Young, commented. That shortlist included Access, Great Plains, Navision, Pegasus, Sage and SunSystems.

Winning the award is a real achievement for the Bournemouth company which joined the IRIS Group in May. Formed in 1986, Exchequer had developed an enviable reputation for quality and innovation, and has won more consecutive 'best mid-range accounting software' awards than any of its rivals.
Extensive experience from supplying thousands of sites globally, combined with a continued commitment to providing leading edge, innovative, reliable and customer focused accounting solutions, has positioned the company as one of the most reputable and successful suppliers of accounting systems in the mid-range market.
Co founder of Exchequer, Rob Steele, collected the award on behalf of the company. Rob said: 'Exchequer, now IRIS Enterprise Software, offers a unique combination of quality, service and dedication to customers. It is a real tribute to everyone involved that Finance Directors think so highly of the brand and would readily recommend the software to their peers.'
IRIS too, has won a number of important industry awards. Its taxation product won the 'Best Tax Software' category in the inaugural Lexis Nexis Taxation Awards. For the last two consecutive years, the company has been short-listed as 'Payroll Software Provider of the Year' in the PAY Awards and the company has just learnt that it has reached the regional finals of the National Business Awards in two categories.
