Thanks for the excellent article on the importance of part time finance directors in the recession.

As someone who has provided this service myself in the past and now advises part time FDs on how to improve their marketing, I particularly appreciated the comment that this is very different from the service provided by even proactive accountancy firms in practice.

SMEs need to bridge this skills gap and focus between the time they are very small and when they are big enough to recruit an experienced, qualified finance professional full time.

It is definitely an area where I see the Pareto 80/20 rule at work . Businesses can get huge value from the arrangement.
