Leading Global Cognos reseller acquires Software Company to provide universal best practice planning and consolidation software

Inca, the leading reseller of Cognos Enterprise Planning solutions, today announces its acquisition of Dillon Technology International, specialist global provider of planning, budgeting and consolidation software. This acquisition will allow Inca to meet the present demands of companies seeking an affordable alternative to spreadsheets whilst continuing to offer Cognos products for business challenges that require a more sophisticated enterprise solution.

Inca will continue to support Dillon's global customer base and extend research and development. The Dillon products will be relaunched to the market as Inca Planning and Inca Consolidation.

'We know that many organisations wish to take greater control over business planning and financial reporting but find existing solutions too rich in functionality with a price tag beyond their means, ' explains Chris Kerrison, CEO. 'This acquisition will allow Inca to offer the 'right priced' solution combined with a leading planning consultancy service to any organisation desperate to escape the limitations of spreadsheets.'

Over the past 20 years Dillon Technology has built both robust, easy to deploy software products and long term customer relationships with organisations as diverse as Waterford Wedgwood, PortaKabin and Capespan. Dillon Technology's CEO Richard Dillon is delighted with the acquisition.

'It is not often that you meet individuals such as those within the Inca team that are so passionate about transforming the performance of dynamic organisations. I am confident that Inca's combination of domain expertise, quality consultancy and vigorous support leaves Dillon's products and customers in very safe hands. Our experience has taught us that technology only takes an organisation halfway towards their planning goals. It is excellent advice and support that will help finance departments transform the planning culture and performance of the organisation.'

Inca is also developing a reseller channel in order to maximise sales coverage across the UK and in overseas territories and will strive to maintain its customer retention rate of 99% achieved through its complete focus on project delivery and ongoing customer service.

'We know that our work with finance teams delivers planning solutions that transform an organisation's current and future performance, whatever its size or complexity', comments Chris Kerrison, Inca's CEO.

'Inca has over 70 years of collective business and financial planning expertise which makes us the most successful provider of Planning solutions. We understand the opportunity that this acquisition presents to bring best practice planning and financial reporting within the reach of any company serious about performance. One thing is clear; only organisations that replace spreadsheets for planning and reporting will achieve the agile decision making that keeps a company ahead of the competition and in tune with its customers.'
