KPMG staff head for four day week
In a bid to limit redundancy payments, KPMG has offered its 11,000 staff the option of four day weeks and unpaid sabbaticals of up to 12 weeks. While the Big Four firm has stressed such working conditions are optional, it’s hoping the vast majority of its workforce will apply. Employees will have until the 6 February to decide.
The Big Four firm said that its other European offices would soon be following suit. It’s expected the consultancy side of the firm will see a sharp drop in activity as cash-strapped clients cut back to survive the downturn.
