New ICAEW logo revealed
AccountingWEB can reveal the new logo of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, days before it is due to be officially released.
The new image, for which the ICAEW paid consultants Dragon Brands £65,000, still includes Economia but does not feature her scales. In the logo, she appears slimmer than the current image, while it uses just half of the institute’s crest.
The image, which appears on the front cover of the current edition of 'Accountancy' magazine, is to be officially unveiled on Monday.

You can not be serious !
Is this a joke ?
If it ain't broke don't fix it.
I was about to renew my subs but I will give it more thought.
What idiot at the ICAEW got paid to think this one up ?
Have they not learned the lesson from the Cosigna fiasco ?
Obviously those at "HQ" are as divorced from the members as Blair is from the electorate.
the new one is OK
but what was wrong with the old one?
old and new also can use now?
Before use new one, read below before use. Can or not?
Are you not afraid bad feng shui if logo not good? Read below before use.
I suggest use good logo for good feng shui coming and hounding well all year round. OK or not?
I am told just now, broken-egg logo of below used in subscriptions and examination forms, unbroken same logo used in all others. Common sense interprete you all can tell easily, is that subscription and examination forms not very good then and that is because the contents of broken-egg pour out already. Anyone knew feng shui, tell us all if this interpretation correct or not correct so that we can all prove feng shui correct.

Feng Shui good or bad, can tell us all together now?
Logo give you the best feng shui or not then bad feng shui. So, design it very good for good feng shui, if not, you know bad feng shui can come.
Understand.
I heard so much arguments long ago at one time on Logo of this international body which council overseas not happy about because Logo show "broken egg" logo. Broken in simple english sense, broken. Broken can use or cannot use? Worst still, this is broken-egg logo, and all the egg contents keep pour out wildly and out all the time. Formerly, this body got good nice crest logo which all the overseas council very much like without argument. Now, so many years later, with broken-egg Logo, what achievements got this international body got for members all these while for their membership benefits? Eggs content all pour out, leave what inside the broken-egg shell? Nothing, correct or not? So, broken-egg mean bad feng shui. Why? WHY don't change to good feng shui?
Some prefer broken-egg bad feng shui compared to good feng shui because bad feng shui no developments all the time as you all know, broken-egg, where got contents inside to pour out some more as ingredients of the broken-egg logo?
Simple logical geniuous think so easily about logos. Can show me ICAEW logo or not?
Make sure no broken-egg inside, because broken-egg logo is bad feng shui logo no body in this world except one wants broken-egg logo.
That's all right then .....
So it's all p*** and wind and the rollout costs are in the ICAEW budget. So are the subscription increases. Publish all the figures, and the estimate of the costs to Members, their firms and HM Treasury.
The budget for the increases in staff numbers, salaries and bonuses would be interesting, too. Also, whilst about it show a bit of gumption and efficiency, publish the 2006 Report and Accounts by Friday.
The cost of the CEO's new double-size office at Moorgate Place was, of course, specifically specified in the 2006 budget else, by implication, it would not have happened.
So who is taking the Michael out of whom?
p's' Tiny ball on end of string. Understand.
More money wasted
Just who makes decisions like these?
Subs keep going up and we have little to show for it.
If they have excess money try arranging for services to be available outside the capital - we can't all nip down to London for an after-work discussion at Moorgate Place though we don't see any reduction in our subscription fees to reflect that. Paying for inserts for Accountancy magazine to enlighten us to what those near the capital get and those out of it don't just raises costs and shows how little they care about the majority of their membership.
Also where does the ICAEW advertise to our potential clients? I haven't seen any promotional stuff to business showing why they should choose an ACA/FCA to look after their affairs this decade. That's where we need the subs spending - not on unnecessary things like merger discussions and changing a logo. I don't dislike the new logo but it shouldn't be a priority when is comes to spending our fees.
And since the deadline for Yellow Pages adverts is fast approaching, just what logo are we supposed to use on those before we approve them?
The Institute is completely out of touch!
out of balance
maybe the scales have ben left out because accounts are no longer required to balance
by way of a protest
perhaps members would consider sticking with the old logo, and at the same time make a point of writing to the institute setting out their views of what the money could have been better spent on?
AH - Nice idea but
As comments are so sparse below it seems unlikely many would contact HQ with suggestions.
ICAEW folk, in particular, need only say yep, nope, undecided, past caring to the new logo if they wish to express a "quick" view here.
Yep and YES sir......
Anon, can or not for all in their benefit to be received scheme of direct membership MRA proposal?
Since you can say " it seems unlikely many would contact HQ with suggestions." and "ICAEW folk, in particular, need only say yep, nope, undecided, past caring to the new logo if they wish to express a "quick" view here. ", then for very best benfits and interest on all the interested people about FCA titles, can you or not help immediately for their benefit purpose to propose MRA to the immediate council of the ICAEW and accept only AIA, CPA Ireland, IFA, ICPA, CPA London, CPA international into their listing for MRA same as in HKICPA status of entry without conditioning clause for membership.
We can all then believe you in our future to come, and thank you for this note of importance without forgetting you forever and truthfully sincerely all the time in our minds forever.
